Happy Mother’s Day

It’s weird how today has so much more meaning to me than in years past. I really wanted to hear from my mother how much she liked the gift I gave her; how much she appreciated the effort I put in to try and arrange a brunch that didn’t even work out in the end. I really needed to hear it for whatever reason even though I know it’s beyond true not just today but everyday. Not many people get to be daughters and mothers that are also best friends. I’m truly lucky. I read a post from one of my friend’s from college who wrote that she hopes that one day her daughter will love her as much as she loves her own mom as that is the ultimate gift of motherhood. I hope the same is true for me some day too.
